We are ISP. Our School is an Independent Specialist Provision, serving children and young people (CYP) in Kent and Medway who live with either their families, foster carers or in residential children’s homes. The school is set on Our school is for CYP with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We aim to provide high quality education for 42 pupils aged 7–16 years who have not been able to sustain mainstream education by taking a holistic approach in our daily practice for each young person in need.

Role Details

ISP Special School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and patient land-based tutor and mentor to join its friendly and supportive team.  We are seeking a land-based tutor to develop and deliver bespoke schemes of work for our pupils. We currently deliver ABC Practical Countryside Awards and Certificates and AQA Unit Awards.  You will also be responsible for mentoring 4 or 5 pupils. The role also requires you to work proactively with a team to support pupils in the classroom. 

Please note, SEN experience is not required but an empathy and willingness to learn is essential. Early years or work and/or working with children with special educational needs would be an advantage but not essential.
