ARE YOU AN EXPERIENCED CHILD/FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER?

Core Assets Children's Services are looking for a Therapeutic Outreach Worker to represent Core Assets Children’s Services (CACS) in providing a comprehensive and flexible range of activities to children/young people and their families who are at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation or displaying low level sexually inappropriate or harmful behaviours.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

I)  DIRECT SUPPORT TO CHILDREN/ YOUNG PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES RECEIVING CORE ASSETS CHILDREN’S SERVICES

 

- Support children, young displaying low level sexually inappropriate/harmful behaviours and children at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation. 

- Provide transport and or escort to children and young people where necessary and appropriate

- Act as an appropriate adult as necessary.

- Respond to and work to prevent Child Sexual Exploitation and Sexually Harmful/Inappropriate Behaviours (SH/IB).

- Conduct initial assessments and liaise with key stakeholders including health (including mental health services such as CAMHS, school, Local Authority and community organisations).

- Engage children/young people and families to empower them to take control of their own programme using a variety of methods including:

- Creative CBT games using interests of the child to support motivation.

- Involving child and family in designing the programme and setting goals.

- Gathering of feedback using age-appropriate tools.

- Providingwritten and verbal reports to share progress.

- Keep comprehensive records of work undertaken and provide these promptly alongside preparing other appropriate records; including preparing reports for reviews, case conferences and courts

- To keep all confidential data secure

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

- Must possess a full driving licence

- Experience of working with looked after children and young people both short and longer term

- To have carried out assessments

- A preliminary knowledge of child protection procedures

- Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with Children/Young People and adults

- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

This is a part time, fixed term position based at our Chorley office which comes with an attractive salary of up to £19,673 pro rata + benefits.
